el 2 - 5 de noviembre

I will only be at the Middle School on Tuesday night for conferences!
EIGHTH GRADE: The eighth grade has finished creating and decorating their sugar skulls in our celebration of Dia de los muertos or Day of the dead. Tuesday the 3rd we will review for our chapter test on chapter 4A including question words, places around town, and the verb IR: to go. The test will be Wednesday the 4th and then we will begin with the next chapter 4B which continues on with sports, the verb jugar: to play, and emotions. The homework on Tuesday will be to study and there will be homework on the new chapter on Wednesday. No homework on Thursday for the long weekend.

SIXTH GRADE: The sixth graders had a day of celebration for the day of the dead and they created either a skull mask or a skeleton puppet. Tuesday and Wednesday the 3rd and 4th I will be introducing classroom items and revisiting greetings. There will be homework in their workbooks on Tuesday/Wednesday practicing classroom items and numbers on page 6.

I will be out next week the 9th to the 13th. The eighth graders will continue to work with the new chapter and they will be watching a video at the end of the week called Under the Same Moon about immigration. The sixth graders will be doing a country project using Google earth on the computers.

26-30 de octubre

EIGHTH GRADE: Eighth graders will be creating review games on Monday and Tuesday. They have been broken into groups of 4 or 5 and they are working together to create a review game to go over the verb IR, question words, and other information from chapter 4A. On Friday of this week we will be creating sugar skulls to celebrate day of the dead. Then next Monday, Nov. 2nd we will decorate the skulls.

SIXTH GRADE: The sixth graders are revisiting the Spanish alphabet and we will spend the early part of the week working on this. We will probably not have homework this week. Later in the week we will be doing a small art project constructing puppets and masks to celebrate the day of the dead.

El 19-23 de octubre

EIGHTH GRADE: Eighth graders will continue to work on chapter 4A talking about the verb "ir" to go and places around town and what they do in their free time. They will have homework at least Monday through Wednesday practicing the verb "ir" and forming correct sentences. There may be a short quiz on Thursday on places around town and ir.

SIXTH GRADE: Sixth graders are continuing to review weather and we will start learning about different classroom items and revisit the alphabet. They will have homework on Tuesday/Wednesday night due on Thursday/Friday.

el 13 - 16 de octubre

EIGHTH GRADE: Eighth graders will be having a chapter test on Tuesday on chapter 3B. We will then jump into 4A which has to do with sports and the verb "jugar" to play. There will be homework Tuesday through Thursday night.

SIXTH GRADE: Sixth graders will continue to work on calender items and weather. The homework from the workbook page 7 is due this Friday(the 9th) and Tuesday. There is homework from the workbook on page 9 part A which is due on Wednesday/Thursday.

el 5-9 de octubre

EIGHTH GRADE: We will be creating picture food dictionaries on Monday. We will find images of the new food items that we have learned and the organizing them into the correct food groups like meats, dairy, fruit, etc. Then we will review on Tuesday and have a quick clicker quiz on Wednesday on the verb ser and adjective agreement. Then review for the rest of the week and have a chapter test on Friday the 9th. Then after the long weekend we can start a new chapter!

SIXTH GRADE: We are continuing to review body parts on Monday and Tuesday and we will be having a clicker quiz on body parts on Wednesday and Thursday. The homework on Monday and Tuesday will be to study for the quiz. Later in the week we will be learning days of the week and weather expressions. There will be a homework assignment on days of the week in the workbook on Wednesday and Thursday.

EIGHTH GRADE: Eighth graders are finally moving onto new material. They had a quiz today (Monday) and Tuesday we will begin to learn more about foods and how to maintain your health. There will be homework Tuesday through Thursday night on plurals of adjectives, the verb ser, and maintaining your health. If any student wants to retake a quiz or test and they got below 79% they can ask me.

SIXTH GRADE: Sixth graders just took a quiz on telling time and they are welcome to retake it if they got 79% or below. We will be continuing to learn body parts through simon says and creating body collages with magazine cutouts. There will be a homework assignment on body parts on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

EIGHTH GRADE: Eighth graders will have a quiz on Tuesday the 22nd on the conjugations of regular AR, ER and IR verbs. It will be 25 questions multiple choice. They will be given a subject and a verb and they will need to select the correct verb conjugation. We will also be reviewing food on Tuesday and then we will be moving on to Chapter 3B which will be new material. They will have homework Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night. Monday night's homework is to study.


SIXTH GRADE: Sixth graders are continuing to study time and on Monday and Tuesday they will have an introduction to the Spanish alphabet which will involve a team spelling competition in which the winning team will win 5 extra credit points. They will have homework on telling time for Monday and Tuesday night which will be due on Wednesday and Thursday depending on when they have class. Their next short quiz will be on telling time and it will be on Friday and Monday. It will be another clicker quiz with 15 multiple choice questions.
